Let's get to know each other.
Life has a way of throwing curveballs.
I got served a major one at 22.
At that age, I defined my life to that point as a student – my life was a stack of notecards, heavy textbooks, and an overloaded Google Drive.
I had finished my college career a semester early (while balancing 2+ jobs) and achieved my highest goal – a summa cum laude recognition.
I was ready for what the next chapter of life had to offer. To set down my life as a student and pick up a new one as a content creator for a health care organization when I joined the job in the spring of 2020.
(Queue record scratch when a pandemic changed life as we knew it when I was 8 weeks into the job and somehow I was responsible for managing our inbox, answering community, and producing clear, accurate health information when news had a death toll ticker on our television screens.)
It was sink-or-swim.
So, I did what I had to do – I rose to the occasion. I dove deep into the work. I streamlined workflows to produce content more efficiently and effectively than we had before. I triaged community questions on our social channels, and crafted content to respond to breaking news and studies. I oversaw social media campaigns to amplify urgent health information to our communities.
With that as my introduction into the work force, I learned some valuable lessons.
As a result, I am creative – I can think on my feet and pivot completely at a moment’s notice.
I’m a hard worker, as I was before COVID and after, when I had no other choice.
I can churn content fast and make it well. I bring a can-do attitude to any shitstorm that may arise on the job.
Since my turbulent introduction to the job, I've grown to be a leader on our content team. I direct social content from pitch to final publication and partner across our organization to serve as a central liaison for all digital content.
Outside of the office, I enjoy cooking, sunny walks, watching anything on TLC, and spending time with my dog, Rosie.
